Thomas WoLFE LITERARY AWARD
Our literary award has been presented annually for printed works that focus special attention on Western North Carolina since 1955 when Wilma Dykeman won for The French Broad.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Our achievement award is presented annually to an individual or organization which has made significant contributions to the preservation of the history of the mountain region.
VIRTUAL EXHIBITS
View digital versions of past exhibits that have been on display in our museum. From “Doug Ellington: Asheville’s Boomtown Architect” to “Hillbilly Land: Myth & Reality of Appalachian Culture,” we offer virtual exhibits on a variety of topics.

FOR EDUCATORS
Learn more about the programs we offer for youth including traveling trunks on a variety of local historical topics that are freely available to check out for classroom use to museum tours tailored to grade-level curriculum.
